E2K10 – Decom E2K3 System


It’s time to plan & decom E2K3 system

1. Remove Public Folder from E2K3

 2. SMTP & Store
E2K3 STMP service depends on the store. There is at least one DB mounted, otherwise STMP will not work, and queue in “Messages pending submission”
3. Uninstall E2K3 Cluster
a. uninstall from the passive node – just uninstall it. if question, then if it is the last cluster node, answer “NO” http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997844(EXCHG.65).aspx
b. uninstall from the active node -. need to remove the virtual E2K3 server first, then uninstall it http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123928(v=exchg.65).aspx
c. delete the remaining Cluster Resources after uninstall E2K3 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123742(v=exchg.65).aspx
d. uninstall the Cluster service on a Windows Server 2003 cluster http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282227
. make sure ClusterName & E2K3 VirtualName are clean from DNS
